Answer

Dear David,

I´m a PhD student at the University of Sheffield, I´m using a Houndsfield equipment for hertzian indentation testing (compression) on glass samples.  I have the need to detect when the sample fails (fracture initiates) most likely using an acoustic sensor attached to the sample and then aborting the test in order to record the load at failure.

I wonder if Hounsfield could supply this type of sensors and the interfase to the machine.  If not, we will look for the sensors and the I/O module but still need your help on what type of input signal is required and how to connect to the equipment in order to abort the test and record the maximum load.

The equipment is a model H100KS, Serial TX-0038.

Thanks in advance for your help
