ANSWER

Stress relaxation is a test where a pre-determined load or stress is applied to a test specimen, the machine stopped and the resultant load imonitored against time is a standard test for a Hounsfield (now called Tinius Olsen) machine. The load/stress will decay exponentially as the test specimen 'relaxes' under the applied force. You could perform the test without software but it would be fairly crude and really you will require the appropriate software.
